LAST SEEN STATUS IN WHATSAPP, HOW TO USE IT?

WhatsApp being the most popular messaging App helps to offer plenty of alternatives to keep in touch with friends and families, including sending photos, videos, documents, messages, voice notes, stickers, voice and video calls. These are the various how WhatsApp is bringing people that close, most importantly, this messaging app can be used on almost any device, including computers and most of the best Android phones. 

The app has so many easy to use feature which has made it users not look other way round when it comes to massaging friends. However, Last seen feature is one of the easy to use feature that we will be going in depth to explore how to use this fascinating feature. By default, your last seen status is shared with your contacts, which means they can see when you were last online and used the app.

WHAT IS LAST SEEN?

Now, before we go further on to adjust the settings to your needs, let us take time on what is meant by Last Seen. Last seen simply refers to the last time you used WhatsApp or appeared on WhatsApp, through privacy settings, you have the option to control who can see the last time you used the app or appeared online. When you set this feature to ‘Nobody” or “Everyone”, it means that you’re stopping your contact from seeing the last time you used the app or appeared online.

ADJUST THE SETTING TO YOUR NEEDS?

Everyone: Here, is bound to see the last time anyone appeared online as this feature is defiantly set to “Everyone” by WhatsApp whether you saved their number in your contacts or not. You can Avoid this setting to maximize privacy, as anyone who texts you on WhatsApp can see when you were last online or appeared on WhatsApp.

My contacts: this means that only allow people whose numbers you've saved in your phonebook to see your last seen status. It's probably the option to pick, as only the people you know can see when you last used WhatsApp, allowing you to maintain a modicum of privacy.

My contacts except: this will let all of your contacts see when you were last online, except for the ones you select. This means that by default, everyone whose number is saved in your phonebook can see when you last used WhatsApp, except for the people you pick, who can't see it.

Nobody deactivates the last seen feature for your account, meaning no one can see yours. It also means you can't see it for your contacts.

The Who can see when I'm online option is slightly different. It lets you control whether people can see when you're currently using your phone. This means that even if you prevent people from seeing exactly when you were last online, they can see if you're currently using the app. However, if you close the app, they won't see when you last used it, depending on the settings you use for the Last seen status.

HOW TO SELECT LAST SEEN OPTIONS ON WHATSAPP?

1.      Open WhatsApp on your mobile phone

2.      Click on Settings to move to settings

3.      Click on Privacy to move to privacy

4.      Click on Last Seen and Online

5.      In the Last Seen and Online Select Nobody and Same as Last seen

Now that we’ve walked through the last seen feature, it is well understood that WhatsApp has done a massive work to include this particular feature in their app. Therefore users are in total control of their last seen feature.
